Peter’s Retirement: Melanie Leads 4d Architecture

After co-founding and co-directing 4d Architecture for over 20 years, Peter has decided to retire in 2024. The practice will now continue with Melanie as the sole practitioner, operating as Melanie Batchelor EI.

While Peter is stepping back from the day-to-day operations, he will still provide occasional consultancy and sketching services.

As the new sole practitioner, Melanie will build upon the strong foundation established by her and Peter over the past two decades. She has a deep understanding of both traditional and modern Savoyard construction techniques, allowing her to create architectural designs that blend the region’s heritage with contemporary living.

With Peter enjoying more time on the slopes, Melanie Batchelor EI will carry forward the practice’s legacy, continuing to deliver exceptional architectural services to clients in the French Alps.
